FORT SMITH, Arkansas (November 5, 2016) - The Texas A&M International University Volleyball team closed out a road trip in Fort Smith, Arkansas on Saturday. TAMIU was defeated by Arkansas Fort-Smith in three sets, moving to 2-22 overall (2-11 HC).

SET 1: TAMIU 17, UAFS 25
The Dustdevils and Lions would trade runs to open play on Saturday. Following a four-point Dustdevil run, UAFS opened a lead, scoring six straight. The Dustdevils made a late push but were unable to make up the deficit before UAFS put the first set away.

SET 2: TAMIU 10, UAFS 25
Despite an early Dustdevil lead, UAFS would use a trio of scoring-runs to defeat TAMIU in the second set. Two four-point runs put TAMIU behind before the final points were scored.

SET 3: TAMIU 13, UAFS 25
A pair of short scoring runs from the Dustdevils were spoiled by the Lions in the third set. Midway through the match, UAFS went on an eight-point run, putting the Dustdevils behind 16-7. TAMIU was unable to get back on track in the final portion of the set, falling 13-25.

One week after picking up a double-double at home, Tori Zamora picked up 10 digs and 14 assists. Ramey Gardner recorded 10 kills, a match high for TAMIU. Megan Unrath and Jordan Ruiz each picked up one block in the loss. Alejandra Bustamante led the Dustdevils defensively, picking up 18 digs. 

TAMIU returns home for the final game of the season on Thursday, November 10. The Dustdevils host St. Mary's on Senior Day. Play is set to begin at 7pm CST.
