KINGSVILLE, Texas (February 19, 2016) – The Texas A&M International University Baseball team began a weekend series with the Javelinas on Friday. The Dustdevils were dealt a 2-7 loss in the first of three games.
Jeffery Morgan got things started for the Dustdevils in the third. Morgan lined a double to right-center, scoring
Alexander Cabezas.
Ian Acosta drove in the Dustdevils second run. Acosta hit a sacrifice fly to right, scoring
Nathan Halas. The Javelinas added three (3) runs in the seventh, putting the game out of reach.
Cabezas went 2-4 at the plate with one (1) run scored. Acosta and Morgan each finished 1-3 at the plate with one (1) RBI.
Osvaldo Raya got the start for TAMIU. Raya went six (6) innings allowing six (6) runs on nine (9) hits., striking out four (4).
Nick Perales pitched the final two (2) innings for the Dustdevils, allowing just one run on one (1) hit.
The Dustdevils will continue the weekend series with a double header Saturday. First pitch is set for 1 pm CST.
