OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma (March 4, 2016) – The Teas A&M International University Softball started a weekend series with Heartland Conference opponent Oklahoma Christian on Friday. The Dustdevils were dealt two losses. TAMIU is now 12-14 overall (3-2 HC).
Game 1: TAMIU 2, Oklahoma Christian 11The Dustdevils were dealt a 2-11 loss in game one. Trailing 11-0 after four innings TAMIU pushed two runs across the plate. Ashley Height drove in the first run of the game on a sacrifice fly, scoring
Brandi Giles.
Taylor Vines drove in the second run on a triple to center, scoring
Krissy Sardelich.
Giles went 2-2 with one (1) run scored. Sardelich and Vines each recorded one (1) hit in the game.
Krystal De La Cruz took the loss, pitching 3.1 innings, recording four (4) strikeouts.
Game 2: TAMIU 3, Oklahoma Christian 6TAMIU pushed the first run across in game two.
Brandi Giles drove in the second and third runs on a two run home run, putting TAMIU up 3-2. Oklahoma Christian scored the final four (4) runs of the game, leading to the final score of 3-6.
Giles finished 1-2 with the home run, going 3-4 on the day. Sardelich picked up two (2) more hits in game two.
Delainy Thompson took the loss in game two. Thompson threw five (5) innings, picking up three (3) strikeouts.
The Dustdevils close out the series Saturday in Oklahoma City. First pitch is set for 12 pm.
