Dustdevils fall in extra innings

LAREDO, Texas (March 8, 2016) – The Texas A&M International University Baseball team kicked off a four game home stand against University of the Sciences on Tuesday. The Dustdevils were dealt an 11-13 loss in a game that went 12 innings. TAMIU is now 8-10 overall.
 
Down 11-10 in the ninth, Alexander Cabezas lined an RBI single, scoring Jacob Tello. The game would stretch to the twelfth inning before the University Of Sciences pushed two runs across, leading to the final score of 11-13.
 
Alex Medina went 3-5 at the plate with three (3) RBI and one (1) run scored. Jeffrey Morgan went 3-6 and was just a home run shy of the cycle, Morgan crossed the plate three (3) times. William Mora recorded three (3) RBI on the day.
 
Daniel Edmondo took the loss, his first of the season. Edmondo allowed two (2) runs on four (4) hits, striking out four (4). Nick Perales started on the mound, going 4.2 innings. Perales struck out two (2) allowing six (6) hits.
 
The Dustdevils begin Heartland Conference play on Friday March 11. TAMIU will take on the University of Texas Permian Basin. First pitch is set for 4 pm at Uni-Trade Stadium.
