LUBBOCK, Texas (April 16, 2016) – The Texas A&M International University Baseball team closed out a three game series against #10 Lubbock Christian on Saturday. TAMIU was dealt a 2-11 loss to the Chaps. The Dustdevils are now 16-23 overall and 7-11 in the Heartland Conference.
Trailing by four runs early, TAMIU pushed their way back into the game in the fourth.
Ian Acosta lined an RBI double down the left field line, scoring
William Mora.
Alexander Cabezas drove in the second run of the inning on an infield single. The Chaps would come back to pus seven runs across in the final four innings of the game, leading to the final score of 2-11.
Eduardo Rodriguez got the nod in game three, tossing 5.1 innings.
Erick Garay and
Daniel Edmondo combined for 2.2 innings of relief. Cabezas beat out two infield singles and Acosta went 2-4 with an RBI and one run scored.
The Dustdevils return home on Friday, April 22. TAMIU will take on Newman University at Jorge Haynes field. First pitch is set for 1 pm CST.
