LAREDO, Texas (September 22, 2016) - The Texas A&M International University Men's Soccer team took the field in a Heartland Conference matchup with West Texas A&M on Thursday. The Dustdevils fell 1-2, TAMIU is now 2-4 overall (1-2 HC).
Down 0-2 late in the second half, Senior
Ryan Hodgson used a Penalty Kick Goal to bring the Dustdevils within one. A tackle in the box led to the penalty kick opportunity in the 87th minute. Hodgson buried the shot into the lower right corner.
After taking an early lead, the Buffs took a two goal lead in the 81st minute. The late goal would be enough for West Texas A&M to claim the win.
Hodgson's goal marked four on the young season, his 21st career goal puts Hodgson in sole possession of fourth all-time.
TAMIU finished the night with 13 shots, three were on goal.
Roberto Molina took the loss, playing 79:59 in net.

Claudio Arias commented after the game, "It seems like the story of this year is that we dominate games but we are slaves of our own mistakes. We will keep working to be better."
The Dustdevils continue their home stand on Saturday, September 24. TAMIU takes on Eastern New Mexico at the TAMIU Soccer Complex. The game is set to begin at 1pm CST.
