LAREDO, Texas (September 29, 2016) - The Texas A&M International University Women's Soccer team continued the 2016 season with a Heartland Conference matchup at home on Thursday. The Dustdevils dropped a close game to Dallas Baptist 1-2. TAMIU is now 0-9 overall (0-6 HC).
Freshman
Tiandra Draggon took control of a loose ball in the box, burying a shot to give TAMIU a one goal lead in the 59th minute of play. Draggon's goal marked the first of her collegiate career.
TAMIU would hold the lead for the following 16 minutes of play before DBU netted their first goal. An 88th minute Patriot goal would lead to a Dustdevil loss.
Draggon picked up the lone Dustdevil goal on four shots.
Brenda Garcia,
Yolanda Gonzalez,
Cio Bargallo and
Abigail Colmenares each recorded one shot in the loss.
Kiyana Lopez played all 90 minutes in net, picking up 13 saves.

Felipe Arias commented after the game, "We deserved a better result against last years conference champion. The teams effort was phenomenal! We will continue building up this young team upon tonights attitude!"
TAMIU returns to action at home on Saturday, October 1. The Dustdevils take on St. Edward's at the TAMIU Soccer Complex. Play is set to begin at 12pm CST.
