Colmenares chose TAMIU because she felt welcomed and at home when she met both men's and women's soccer team along with the coaches. She also enjoyed the fact that the campus wasn't as big which is something she was used to. Her most inspirational figure is her grandmother because she followed her dreams in the midst of adversity. She (her grandma) was a hard worker on and off the field as she set her mind to be the best in all she did which inspired Colmenares to be the best player and person she could be.
