GOODWELL, Oklahoma (September 29, 2016) - The Texas A&M International University Volleyball team picked up their first win of 2016 at Oklahoma Panhandle State on Thursday. The Dustdevils won consecutive sets to earn their first win of the season. TAMIU is now 1-12 overall (1-3 HC).

Ramey Gardner, and
Alexis Villa powered the Dustdevils to a convincing 3-0 win over the Aggies. TAMIU won three consecutive sets (25-15, 25-19, 25-23) to defeat OPSU.
The Dustdevils opened a nine point advantage early in set one. TAMIU scored 12 unanswered points, taking a 14-5 lead. The Dustdevils never let OPSU come within seven points, winning 25-15.
TAMIU used separate four point runs in set two, winning 25-19.
Set three saw a late Aggie push halted by the Dustdevils. A back and forth set saw OPSU make a six point run before TAMIU scored the final three points, winning 25-23.
Gonzalez recorded four blocks in the win, including two block solos. Gardner picked up 11 kills, nine digs, and three blocks. Villa continued her strong season picking up 12 assists, 11 digs, five aces, and five kills.
The Dustdevils used an 11-3 advantage in aces and a 6-3 advantage in blocks to earn the win.
TAMIU is back in action on Saturday, October 1. The Dustdevils will take on St. Mary's in San Antonio at 12pm CST.
