LAREDO, Texas (January 26, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Women's Basketball team is back on the road, looking to pick up a second straight Heartland Conference victory on Thursday. TAMIU will take on Rogers State in Claremore, Oklahoma at 5:30pm CST.
Last Contest:
The Dustdevils (2-16 Overall/2-6 Heartland Conference) picked up their second win of the 2016-17 season over OPSU on Saturday, January 21. TAMIU defeated the Aggies 55-52 in front of home fans, moving to 7th overall in the Heartland Conference.
Hannah Beede finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds, picking up a double-double.
Joanna Perez finished with 14 points and three boards.
Nayiri Aslanian added eight points and three rebounds in the win.
The Competition:
The HIllcats (5-13 Overall/1-7 Heartland Conference) come into Thursday's game after a 46-71 loss to UAFS on January 21.
Rachel Block and
Darian Jackson scored seven points each for the Hillcats. Block, Jackson and
Nikola Nedoroscikova pulled down a team-high five rebounds.
Heather Roberts totaled a game-high two blocks.
Heartland Conference:
St. Mary's and St. Edward's hold a share of the Heartland Conference lead heading into play on Thursday. Both teams post a record of 7-1. UAFS and Lubbock Christian hold the third and fourth spots with records of 6-2/5-2. TAMIU currently sits seventh, ahead of Rogers State and Oklahoma Panhandle State. Six teams are in action tonight with the full schedule listed below.

The Dustdevils picked up a six point win over the Hillcats on December 19 at home. Thursday's matchup will be the sixth contest all-time between the schools with TAMIU holding a 4-1 lead overall.
