LAREDO, Texas (January 6, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Women's Basketball team continues a three-game road trip that spans two weeks on Saturday. The Dustdevils will take on St. Edward's in Austin, Texas at 1:00pm CST. 

Last Contest:
The Dustdevils fell to 1-13 overall (1-3 Heartland Conference) after a 39-80 loss to Oklahoma Christian in their last matchup. Joanna Perez finished the game with a team-high 12 points. Hannah Beede put up 10 points, grabbing seven rebounds. Unique Finley finished the night with six points. 

The Competition:
The Hilltoppers (8-5 overall/4-0 Heartland Conference) took sole possession of first place in the Heartland Conference after upsetting #21 St. Mary's on Thursday night. Shakera Barnes and Khiani Clark both recorded double-doubles. Barnes scored 16 points and dished out 12 assists, while Clark pulled down 11 rebounds with 12 points. Lexi Fatheree tied the game high with 20 points.

Eight of nine Heartland Conference teams are in action Saturday. The Saturday schedule is listed below:

History:
The Dustdevils and Eagles split their matchups in the 2015-16 season with each team winning away from home. SEU took a game in Laredo 73-63 while TAMIU won 78-72 in Austin. The Teams met in the 2016 Heartland Conference Tournament where SEU defeated TAMIU 71-65 The teams have matched up 21 times with SEU currently leading the all-time series 11-10.
