SAN ANTONIO, Texas (October 12, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Volleyball team traveled to San Antonio for te final match of a two-week road trip on Thursday. The Dustdevils were dealt a 0-3 loss, moving to 2-18 overall and 0-6 in the Heartland Conference. 

Coming off a 0-3 loss to Newman just five days ago, the Dustdevils would face the Heartland Conference's second ranked team for the second time in as many matches. The Rattlers who hold sole possession of second place dealt the Dustdevils a 0-3 loss (13-25,14-25,23-25).

SET 1: TAMIU 13 - StMU 25
St. Mary's would take control of the first set, jumping out to an early 14-1 lead. The Dustdevils were unable to get back into the set before falling 25-13.

SET 2: TAMIU 14 - StMU 25
TAMIU would play a tighter second set before the Rattlers pulled ahead late in the set. TAMIU led 6-5 early in the set but the Rattlers would push the match to 2-0 with a 25-14 win in the second. 

SET 3: TAMIU 23 - StMU 25
The Dustdevils came out strong in the third set, jumping ahead 7-3. TAMIU would stretch that lead to six before StMU would come bring the set within a point at 16-15. The Rattlers would tie the set at 16, before the teams would trade points. TAMIU would use a three-point run to take a late 20-17 lead but the Rattlers would come back to take a 24-23 lead late in the set before picking up the set point and the match. 

MATCH LEADERS:
Yuliia Hupkovska led the Dustdevils with seven kills while Leah McManus added five. Ronnie Fountain tallied 17 assists in the match. Hupkovska would lead the team with 13 digs while Fountain and McManus each recorded a pair of aces. Panebi Shirey, Aleksandra Billic, and Megan Unrath each recorded a block in the loss.

The Dustdevils have the weekend off before returning home to host St. Edward's University. The Dustdevils will host the Hilltoppers on Dig Pink night Thursday, October 19. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
