LAREDO, Texas (October 26, 2017) – Cio Bargallo scored her 17
th goal of the season as the Texas A&M International University women's soccer team dropped a 5-1 decision to St. Edward's on Thursday evening at Dustdevil Soccer Field. The Dustdevils fall to 3-11-2 and 2-10-1 in Heartland Conference play while St. Edward's improved to 10-3-4 (8-2-3 HC).
Bargallo's 17
th goal of the season moves her into fifth all-time in a single season in Heartland Conference history and improves on her own school record. The Dustdevils recorded nine shots on the night with
Valeria Macias registering a match-high four shots.
Elaine Salazar (0-3-0) made one save in her third start of the season for TAMIU.
The Hilltoppers went up 1-0 on a goal from corner in the 16
th minute before adding two more in the 29
th and 30
th minute. They added two more early in the second half to make it 5-0 before Bargallo scored her 11
th of conference play at 68:51 on a pass from Macias.
The Dustdevils will host Dallas Baptist on the final day of the regular season, Oct. 28,where
Jaquelinn Moreno and
Abigail Colmenares will be honored.
