LAREDO, Texas (October 27, 2017) – Claudio Arias and the Texas A&M International University men's soccer team will put their three match winning streak on the line against St. Mary's on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Dustdevil Soccer Field on Senior Day. Six seniors will be honored before the match that is set for a 12:00 p.m. kickoff.
The Dustdevils (9-4-2, 8-4-1 HC) have won three straight for the first time since 2014 thanks to the form of junior
Rodrigo Zuniga. The Laredo, Texas product has scored five matches in the past three matches helping the Dustdevils clinch the fourth-seed in the Heartland Conference tournament and the opportunity to host a quarterifinal match next Tuesday. StMU (9-7-1, 7-6-0 HC) needs a win and UT Permian Basin loss on Saturday to avoid a trip to Canyon, Texas for a quarterfinal matchup with West Texas A&M.

A LOOK AT THE ALL-TIME SERIES
Saturday's match will be the 27
th meeting between the Dustdevils and Rattlers with TAMIU holding a 16-8-2 advantage. Before the loss on Oct. 7, the Dustdevils had won the previous three matches by a combined 12-3.
THE LAST TIME AROUND
StMU defeated TAMIU 2-0 on Oct. 7 in San Antonio thanks to two goals in the first five minutes of the match from Nenad Markovic and Pato Botello Faz.
A LOOK AT THE RATTLERS
Matt Barnes (14-17-3) has the Rattlers on the verge of their first winning season since 2014 when they went 8-7-2. StMU boasts one of the top offenses in the nation ranking 41
st in total goals, 42

th in assists per game.
The Rattlers have three of the top goal scorers in the conference including Pato Botello Faz who has found the net a conference-best 12 times. The Monterrey, Mexico product also leads the team in assists (5) having scored at least one goal in five of StMU's past seven matches. Nenad Markovic and Tommy Fogarty-Cameron are second on the team with eight goals with Markovic chipping in four assists. The trio makes up 28 of the Rattlers 34 goals scored in 2017.
Barnes has started two different goalkeepers this season with Gerard Roebuck getting the nod in the past seven matches. The freshman has allowed 16 goals in eight matches for a goals against average of 2.13. He has 19 saves with a career-high five coming against the Dustdevils in their first meeting of the season.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
Carlos Herrera's eight victories in goal this season are the third-most in program history trailing Jesus Cisneros' (2012) 10 and Eammanuel Frias (2011) nine.
Rafael Montabes 54 shots this season are the ninth-most in a single season in program history with his 91 career shots putting him 10
th all-time.
Saturday's match will be

th appearance in a Dustdevil uniform which will be the sixth-most in program history.
Aaron Zuniga will be making his 64
th appearance, which is the ninth-most in TAMIU history.
A win on Saturday for the Dustdevils would be their first 10-win season since 2012 when they finished second in the conference.
BROTHERLY LOVE TOO MUCH FOR PATRIOTS

Aaron Zuniga could not let his little brother, Rodrigo, have all the fun when it came to scoring goals as the right back scored his first goal of the season in TAMIU's 2-1 win over Dallas Baptist on Thursday. A. Zuniga's strike from the right side took a lucky deflection off a defender to find the back of the net in the 58
th minute. R. Zuniga scored the eventual game-winner 15 minutes in the 73
rd minute for his fifth in three matches.
TOURNAMENT TIME
The Dustdevils will return to postseason play for the first time since 2015 where they lost in the final to St. Edward's. TAMIU will host a Hearltand tournament match for the first time on Tuesday, Oct. 31, against either UTPB or StMU depending on Saturday's results.
ZUNIGA NAMED HEARTLAND OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
R. Zuniga was named the Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon after a pair of breakout performances in two Dustdevil victories. The Laredo, Texas product recorded a hat trick against Rogers State with all three goals coming in the second half of a 3-0 victory. He continued his fine form against Newman on Saturday scoring the first goal of the match in TAMIU's 2-1 double overtime victory.
HEARTLAND IN THE RANKINGS
Midwestern State and St. Edward's both moved up one spot in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Men's National Poll. The Mustangs return to third after spending last week at No. 4 while the HIlltoppers moved up to 15
th. In the Massey Ratings, MSU moved up two spots to sixth with SEU dropping six more spots to 30
th. West Texas A&M is ranked just outside the Top-50 at 51
st while TAMIU up six spots to 60
th.
