Dustdevil Softball Announces 2018 Schedule

Laredo, Texas (November 13, 2017) – Texas A&M International University head softball coach Scott Libby has announced the 2018 schedule for the Dustdevils. The schedule features 55 regular season contests with 25 of those taking place at Dustdevil Softball Field.

The Dustdevils open the 2018 season at home hosting Texas A&M-Kingsville and Central Oklahoma in the Dustdevil Softball Spring Classic on Feb. 2-4. TAMU hits the road for the first time on Feb. 9-11 at the ASU George McCorkle Challenge hosted by reigning south central region champions Angelo State. They will travel to Canyon the following weekend, Feb. 16-18, for the WT Invitational III at Schaeffer Park.

TAMIU travel to Kingsville to face TAMUK for the second time of the season on Feb. 20 before opening Heartland Conference play with a doubleheader against Newman (Feb. 23) followed by a trip to Oklahoma Christian (Mar. 1) and Rogers State (Mar. 3) the following week. The Rattlers of St. Mary's will come to Laredo on Mar. 6 for a doubleheader before TAMIU hits the road for five straight starting with game a three-game series against Newman (Mar. 9-10) before playing St. Edward's on Mar. 13.

The Eagles of OC make a return trip to Laredo on Mar. 16-17 followed by a trip up Interstate-35 for the Dustdevils for a three-game series against StMU. TAMIU welcomes Lubbock Christian on Mar. 27 for a midweek doubleheader followed up with a trip to Stephenville on Apr. 3 for two games against Tarleton State.  

TAMIU then returns home for 11 straight starting with a three-game series against RSU (Apr. 6-7) with the TexAnns of TSU making the return trip on Apr. 10. SEU comes to the friendly confines of Dustdevil Softball Field on Apr. 13 followed by a Monday matinee doubleheader against the Rambelles of ASU (Apr. 16). The Dustdevils will host the Lady Buffs of WT (Apr. 22) on Senior Day before heading on a trip to Lubbock for a series with LCU to close out the regular season.
