LAREDO, Texas (February 3, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Baseball hosted Southeastern Oklahoma State on Friday afternoon. The Dustdevils opened the three game series with a 6-4 win. 

How it Happened:
Southeastern took the lead early in Friday's game. A four run second inning allowed the Savage Storm to pull ahead. 

After falling behind 0-4 in the second inning, TAMIU came back to take a 5-4 lead in the third. Gavin Tristan picked up his first RBI as a Dustdevil after an RBI ground out, scoring Jesse Phipps. 

Jeremy Valadez followed Tristan's RBI with a single through the left side, scoring Alexander Cabezas.

With two outs in the third, Sergio Pollorena launched a three-run home run, putting TAMIU ahead 5-4. 

Devon Torres came into the game in the fourth inning, picking up his first appearance in a Dustdevil uniform. Torres shut the door, tossing 5.1 scoreless innings. 

Valadez picked up his second RBI on a sac fly to right in the seventh. Tristan would score on a bang-bang play at the plate, putting TAMIU ahead 6-4. 

On the Mound:
Jorge Gonzalez started his first game as a Dustdevil, tossing 3.2 innings. Gonzalez picked up a pair of strikeouts and gave up two earned runs. Torres picked up the win, striking out six. 

At the Plate:
Pollorena, Cabezas, and Phipps each picked up two hits in the win. Tristan picked up an RBI while Valadez finished with two RBI. Pollorena's homerun accounted for the other three Dustdevil runs. 

Up Next:
The Dustdevils close out the three game series on Saturday at Uni-trade Stadium. First pitch is set for 1pm CST.
