LAWTON, Oklahoma (March 4, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Baseball team closed out a three game series with Cameron University on Saturday. TAMIU was dealt a 1-5 loss followed by a 6-16 loss, falling to 3-9 overall.
Game 1: TAMIU 1 - Cameron 5
The Dustdevils were held in check at the plate in game one on Saturday. Cameron opened the game with three runs in the first inning and two in the third to open a 5-0 lead over TAMIU.
William Mora would get a run back for the Dustdevils in the sixth inning of a seven inning matchup. Mora sent an RBI single through the left side, scoring
Abel Aguilar. Neither team would score through the games conclusion, leading to 1-5 final score.
Devon Torres tossed a complete game for TAMIU. Torres picked up three strikeouts but took the loss, moving to 1-2 on the season.
Game 2: TAMIU 6 - Cameron 16
TAMIU's bats would come alive in the final game of three in Lawton. A day after scoring 13 runs, a season high, TAMIU plated six runs in a lopsided 6-16 loss. Down 0-2 in the second, Mora would come through again for the Dustdevils, launching a two run homerun, bringing the game even at two. The Aggies would plate five runs in the bottom of the second, taking a 7-2 lead. The Dustdevils would answer again in the top of the third, bringing home three runs.
Mario Ramirez got things started for the Dustdevils, driving in
Adrian Castillo on an RBI single to left field.
Sergio Pollorena would pull TAMIU within two runs on a long ball sent over the left field fence. Cameron added eight more runs before TAMIU put up a sixth run in the seventh.
Jeremy Valadez picked up on an RBI on an infield single that scored Ramirez. Cameron put up a run in the bottom of the inning, ending the game at 6-16.
Kyle Keishnick took the loss on the mound, falling to 1-2 on the season. Keishnick fanned three Aggies in one inning of work.
Nick Perales tossed five innings of relief, picking up a strikeout.

The Dustdevils return to Oklahoma for their next game. TAMIU will take on Southeastern Oklahoma on Wednesday, March 8. first pitch in Durant, Oklahoma is set for 2pm.
