WICHITA FALLS, Texas (September 10, 2017) – The Texas A&M International University women's soccer team finished the non=conference portion of their schedule on a sour note allowing three second half goals in a 4-0 loss to Midwestern State on Sunday afternoon at Stang Park in Wichita Falls. The Dustdevils were shutout for the first time in 2017 and see their record fall to 1-2-1 (0-1-0) while the Mustangs improved to 3-1-0 (0-0-0).

The Dustdevils finished with 14 shots with sophomores
Cio Bargallo and
Monica Castro finished contributing a team-high four shots including a career-high three shots on goal for Castro.
Aubrey Hall (1-2-1) made four saves bringing her season total to 19.

The Dustdevils controlled the first 15 minutes of the first match with Bargallo putting a shot on goal in the fifth minute and
Tayler Schott recording her second career shot in the 13
th minute. Hall made the first of her four saves in the 17
th minute on a shot from Destinee Williamson.

Castro recorded TAMIU's third shot of the game in at 25:24 in the first half but MSU's Courtney Burnette was there for the save. The Mustangs went ahead 1-0 in the 26
th minute when Williamson got on the end of Sarah Stewart's free kick for her first goal of the season.

The Mustangs held a slim advantage in shots, 7-6, over the Dustdevils in the first half with both team putting two shots on-target.

The Dustdevils came close to equalizing three minutes into the second half but MSU's Burnette handled Castro's shot on goal. Not soon after the Dustdevils conceded the second goal of the match on Williamson's second goal of the match on a shot from 10 yards out in the middle of the box after nice build up play by Avery Lewis and Brandy Villasana.

MSU's added another just four minutes later with Kelly Cannistra scoring her first career goal. The Dustdevils continued to push numbers forward in search for their first goal of the match with Castro testing Burnette for the third time in the 66
th minute.

Bargallo forced another save in the 82
nd minute followed by two shots by sophomore Valerias Macias before MSU made it 4-0 in the final minute with Hanna Mattinson scoring from the right side of the box.

The Dustdevils will return to Heartland Conference play next weekend with a long road trip up to Newman and Rogers State on Sept. 14 and Sept. 16.Â
