Dustdevils Fall in Overtime to Rogers State

CLAREMORE, Okla. (September 16, 2017) – The Texas A&M International University women's soccer team suffered another heartbreaking loss on Saturday losing 1-0 in overtime to Rogers State in Claremore. With the loss, TAMIU drops to 1-4-1 and 0-3-0 in conference play while the Hillcats remained perfect at 6-0-0 (3-0-0).

The Dustdevils were outshot 23-7 as sophomore Cio Bargallo contributed a team-high two shots with five other players having one shot a piece. Aubrey Hall (1-3-1) made a career-high eight saves on 23 shots faced.

Hall was called on early and often to make saves on a Hillcats offense that entered the day averaging four goals per match. Her first save came at 12:31 on a header from Alex Wynn.

Bargallo recorded TAMIU's first shot of the game in the 23rd minute but saw it go wide to the left. Hall continued her heroics with back-to-back saves on the Hillcats' Alexis Pryor four minutes later. Tayler Schott found some space in the RSU half of the field in the 31st minute but her shot went well over the cross bar.

The Dustdevils controlled the first 20 minutes of the second half as Monica Castro had her best chance of the game in the 52nd minute that was saved by RSU's Taylor Sargent. They continued to push numbers forward when Abigail Colmenares, making her first start of the season, put a shot on-target.

TAMIU's best chance of the game came at 70:32 on a counter attack ending with a shot from Nicole Cohen. Valeria Macias got it all started finding space near midfield before finding Bargallo at the top of the box. The sophomore turned to her right to find a streaking Cohen on the right side sending the ball near post.

RSU recorded the only three shots of the first first overtime before Jordan Downing scored the golden goal 59 seconds into the second period overtime handing the Dustdevils their third loss in a row.

TAMIU return to the friendly confines of Dustdevil Soccer Field next week hosting Oklahoma Christian (Sept. 21) and Lubbock Christian (Sept. 23).
