LAREDO, Texas - Texas A&M International (2-10, 1-9 HC) dropped a 2-1 decision to Oklahoma Chrisitian (1-12, 1-9 HC) on Saturday.
The Eagles waisted no time getting things started as they scored in the 10th minute as Lauren Parker fired a shot in from outside of the box. TAMIU's Cio Bargallo tried to even things up in the 14th minute, but saw her shot just miss and hit off the post.Â
OC continued their offensive press as Denise Bennett put the Eagles up 2-0 on a pass from Darrian Palacios in the 16th minute.
Porscha Miseles-Huff attempted to put the Dustdevils on the board in the closing minutes of the first half, but had her shot saved by the OC keeper.
In the second half, TAMIU finally broke through to trim the deficit to 2-1 with a shot from Bargallo.
The Dustdevils had a chance to tie things in the 76th minute as Valeria Macias lined up for a penalty kick. Unfortunately, the shot was saved by the Eagles' keeper. With that, OC held on to win 2-1.
TAMIU will now go on a three-game road trip starting on Thursday, Oct. 18 in Claremore, Okla. as they face off against Rogers State.Â
