CLAREMORE, Okla. - Texas A&M International (3-10, 2-9 HC) downed Rogers State (7-6-2, 4-5-2 HC) in a 2-1 overtime victory on Thursday.
"It was a solid performance from everyone tonight," Head Coach Felipe Arias said. "What made the difference in the outcome of the game is that we capitalized on the opportunities we had!"
In the first half both teams had chances to get on the board, but neither were able to do so. The Dustdevils best chance came in the 30th minute as Cio Bargallo fired a shot in only to have it saved by the Hillcats keeper.
The second half told a different story, as the first goal of the game came in the 81st minute off a TAMIU own goal, giving RSU a 1-0 lead.Â
However, Bargallo would scored the equalizer in the 87th minute scoring on a penalty kick to force overtime.
The Dustdevils made quick work of the overtime period, as Porscha Miseles-Huff won the game on a free kick from 40 yards out in the 97th minute to give TAMIU the 2-1 victory.
The Dustdevils will be in action on Saturday, Oct. 20 as they travel to Wichita, Kan. to face off against Newman.
