LAREDO, Texas - Texas A&M International men's basketball (2-2) took down Arlington Baptist (0-4) 77-61 on Friday.
Xabier Gomez led the Dustdevils with 16 points, as well as six rebounds, four assists and steal.
Brent Finn posted 14 points, including shooting 3-for-5 from beyond the arc, in addition to an assist.
Steven Coulanges contributed 12 points, four rebounds and a block.Â
The Dustdevils came out of the gate on fire running out on an 8-3 run to start and never trailed in the game. They would push that lead out to 22-7 with just over 11 minutes left in the half. TAMIU went up by their largest lead of the half at 44-24 with two minutes left. They took a 46-28 lead into the intermission.
In the second half, the Dustdevils ran out to their largest lead of the game at 64-40 with 12 minutes left in the game. They continued to roll and didn't let the Patriots within 16 points of the lead. They eventually took a 77-61 victory.
TAMIU will close out the Courtyard Marriott Classic tomorrow as they face off against UT Permian Basin at 5 p.m.
