LUBBOCK, Texas (April 14, 2018) - The Texas A&M International University Baseball team concluded play in a four-game series against Lubbock Christian University on Saturday. The Dustdevils fell 4-8 in game one and 1-9 in game two. TAMIU moves to 12-25 overall and 4-12 in Heartland Conference play.
GAME 1: TAMIU 4 - LCU 8
Kyle Kieschnick got the nod on the mound in game one for TAMIU. The senior would fall to 1-5 on the season after four innings of work. Kieschnick would strike out one batter in his start.
Coleman Butler relieved Kieschnick in the fifth, tossing the final two innings for the Dustdevils. Butler fanned one Chap.
The Dustdevils picked up all four runs in the third inning of game one. TAMIU was trailing 0-6 before
Abel Aguilar drove home
Kobrey Garcia on an RBI double. An error off the bat of
Ricky Gonzalez allowed Aguilar and Ceasar Espinosa to score, cutting the lead to three.
Mathew Trevino drove home the fourth run on an RBI groundout to second.
GAME 2: TAMIU 1 - LCU 9
Erick Garay started game two for the Dustdevils, tossing two innings on the mound. Garay struck out one but was tagged with the loss.
Justin Diaz relieved Garay for two innings of work.
Mark Trimble and
Mauro Luna would team up to toss the next three innings before Butler tossed the eighth. Each Dustdevil pitcher tallied one strikeout in the loss.
The Dustdevils lone run came on an RBI single from Gonzalez, scoring Aguilar in the fourth.

The Dustdevils will remain on the road for their next matchup. TAMIU will head to Wichita, Kansas for a four-game series with Newman University. First pitch is slated for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20.
