LAREDO, Texas (April 7, 2018) - The Texas A&M International University Baseball team concluded play in a four-game series with Oklahoma Christian on Saturday at Jorge Haynes Field. The Dustdevils fell in both ends of a doubleheader, moving to 12-21 overall and 4-8 in Heartland Conference play.
GAME 1: TAMIU 0 - OC 4
Hugo Mendiola took the mound in game on on Saturday, tossing four innings. Mendiola struck out four batters in his outing.
Justin Diaz tossed three scoreless innings in relief. Diaz struck out one while allowing just two hits.
The Dustdevil bats were held to four hits, coming off the bat of four different players.
Abel Aguilar,
Jorge Napoles,
Kobrey Garcia, and
Fernando Contreras each picked up a hit in the loss.
GAME 2: TAMIU 1 - OC 6
Erick Garay got the nod in game two, tossing three and two-thirds on the mound. Garay fell to 0-3.
Kyle Kieschnick tossed an inning and a third before being relieved by
Mark Trimble for one inning of work. Kieschnick and Trimble each recorded a strikeout.
Mauro Luna tossed two innings before
Coleman Butler tossed the ninth.
TAMIU picked up seven hits in the game two loss.
Abel Aguilar and
Mathew Trevino each recorded a 2-4 appearance at the plate. Aguilar picked up the lone RBI for TAMIU in the third, driving home
Adrian Castillo on a single through the left side.

The Dustdevils are on the road for their next eight games. The road trip begins with a four-game set at Lubbock Christian. Play on April 13 is set to begin at 1 p.m.
