AUSTIN, Texas - Texas A&M International (1-3, 0-2 HC) closed out the road trip falling to St. Edward's (2-2-1, 2-0 HC) 1-0 after an early goal.
"The early goal decided the outcome of the game today," said Head Coach Felipe Arias. "I am very please with the defensive improvement from the DBU game. With five minutes left, we had three shots in the SEU box that could have changed the final result. We are looking forward to returning to Laredo for the next two games."
St. Edward's got the scoring out of the way early, as Morgan Palmer found the back of the net just two minutes into the match on a cross from Caroline Kirschner.
After that, the remainder of the half saw very little in the way of shots, as the two teams combined for five more in the period. However, the Hilltoppers had 10 corner kicks in the half.
The second half was a heavy defensive stalemate with neither side able to get much going in the way of offense. However, the Dustdevils had two opportunities late in the game to get on the board but had one shot saved and the other blocked.
TAMIU returns home on Thursday, Sept. 20 to open up the home conference slate against Newman at 7 p.m.
