LAREDO, Texas - Texas A&M International (1-3, 0-4 HC) couldn't get a shot to fall in a 3-0 loss to Rogers State (6-1-1, 3-0-1 HC) on Saturday.
Despite multiple chances, the Dustdevils were held scoreless while being outshot 19-11, with nine shots on goal compared to three.
Rogers State's BreAnn Tolleson scored the games first goal on a pass from Melissa Cardenas 18 minutes in. In the 26th minute, Maggie Brown would increase the Hillcats lead to 2-0 with an assist from Madison Murray.
TAMIU's Valeria Macias tried to get on the board in the 28th minute, but had her shot saved by RSU keeper Taylor Sargent. Nicole Cohen would have a shot saved in the 40th minute, and so would Cio Bargallo in the 43rd minute.
In the second half, the Hillcats would add a third goal from Kori Watters in the 62nd minute.
Samantha Ruiz would try to end the shutout in the 75th minute, but saw her shot sail wide of the goal. Bargallo's blocked shot in the 85th minute would be the Dustdevils final chance to get on the board.
TAMIU will be back in action as they travel to Edmond, Okla. on Thursday, Sept. 27 to face off against Heartland Conference foe Oklahoma Christian.Â
