RICHARDSON, Texas – Texas A&M International volleyball sophomores Mackenzie Catalina and Anabella Forncrook were among the student-athletes that received Lone Star Conference honors on Wednesday.
A native of Cedar Park, Texas, Catalina received Second Team All-Lone Star Conference honors. She finished the season ranked near the top of the conference in multiple categories. She finished the season ranked second in kills with 3.75 per set (326 total). Catalina also finished second in points, averaging 4.19 per set (346.5 total). As far as school records go, she set the record for most kills in a three-set match with 18 against St. Mary's on Oct. 11. She also set the school record for most kills in a four-set match with 22 against Midwestern State on Oct. 26, a career best mark. Catalina also set a career best this season with 22 digs against Westminster on Sept. 7.
A native of Vancouver, Wash., Forncrook was one of 14 student-athletes named to the Lone Star Conference All-Academic team. A nursing major, Forncrook was third on the team in digs with an average of 2.19 per set (164 total) and ranked fourth on the team with 17 service aces. She also logged 15 assists. She posted a season high with 18 digs against St. Mary's in the regular season finale on Nov. 16.
