In the bottom of the second inning, Melanie Gamboa (1-for-2, 3 RBI) smacked an RBI single off of Adams State starter Taylor Sandoval (L, 0-2: 4 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 3 ER, 4 BB) to plate home Briana Cruz for the game's first run.

The Dustdevils stepped on the gas in the home half of the third inning as Heather Ruiz (1-for-3, RBI, R) reached base on a fielder's choice that scored Sumer Woodson to knot the game up at two apiece. The next hitter, Denise Longoria hit a sacrifice fly to the center fielder that scored Briana Arredondo to give TAMIU a 3-2 lead.

Following the sacrifice fly, Melanie Gamboa (1-for-2, 3 RBI) got on base on a costly error by Breanna Shaffer that scored a pair of Dustdevils to extend the lead to three (5-2) after three innings of play.

In the top of the fourth inning, Maddison Schofield (2-for-2, HR, 2 R, RBI, 2 BB) slapped a solo home run over the left field fence to give TAMIU a four-run edge.

The Grizzlies tallied another run in the top of the sixth inning, but Morgan Chavarria (2-for-4, RBI, R) reached on an error that scored Schofield to settle the 7-3 victory for the Dustdevils.

Game 2: Angelo State 13, Texas A&M International 5 (6 Inn.)

The Rambelles broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the second inning on a two-run home run sent over the left field fence by Avery Zeigler (1-for-3 HR, 2 RBI, 2 R) off of starter Sara Caterson (L, 1-3:  5.2 IP, 13 H, 13 R, 11 ER, 6 BB, 4 K).
