LUBBOCK, Texas -Â Texas A&M International men's basketball (5-16, 2-8 HC) fell to Lubbock Christian (15-7, 6-4 HC) in a 75-36 decision on Saturday.
Xabier Gomez paced the Dustdevils with 11 points as well as three rebounds and a steal. Brent Finn posted 10 points with four rebounds and three steals. Jace Johnson added eight rebounds.
TAMIU stumbled out of the gate, as LCU opened on a 9-0 run. The Dustdevils would fight back though, cutting the lead to 14-10. The Chaps counterpunched and took their first double digit lead of the game at 23-13 with 4:43 left in the half. They closed out the period taking a 32-17 lead into the break.
LCU started the second on half on fire as they took their first 20 point lead at 37-17 just three minutes into the period. They continued to roll, taking a their first 30 point lead at 59-29 with six minutes left. The Chaps ended up taking a 75-36 victory.
The Dustdevils will return home on Thursday, Feb. 14 as they play host to Oklahoma Christian at 7:30 p.m.
