SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Texas A&M International women's soccer (0-1, 0-1 LSC) opened its 2021 Spring season and fell to St. Mary's (1-0, 1-0 LSC) 2-0.
 
The Dustdevils fell behing 40 seconds into the contest when Gabby Olsen scored for the Rattlers.
 
St. Mary's extended its lead to 2-0 with a goal at 19:04 by Serena Frank.
 
Despite the loss, TAMIU was even with the Rattlers in every category. The Dustdevils lead the way in shots (7-6) and shots on goal (6-3). St. Mary's lead in saves (6-a) and corner kicks (3-2).
 
Freshman Fabiana Solano stopped one shot for the Dustdevils in net, while senior Valeria Macias and freshman Andrea Castellanos led the way with two shots each offensively.
 
TAMIU returns to the pitch Sunday, Feb 28 when it hosts St. Edward's in the home opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
