TAMIU Volleyball Adds Vallone To 2023 Class

LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International head volleyball coach Brittany Harry announced the signing of 5'10 outside hitter Asher Vallone on Monday.

A native Laredoan, Vallone returns home to join TAMIU after beginning her collegiate career at NCAA Division I's New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).

"I am really happy Asher is coming back home to be a Dustdevil," said Coach Harry. "For the past two years, Asher has gained some good Division I experience playing outside at NJIT. We are excited for her to join our program and add some veteran depth in the outside position."

Vallone had a strong sophomore campaign with the Highlanders, totaling a team best 185 kills, 2.71 points per set and 2.47 kills per set, which also ranked top 10 in the American East Conference. She was also second in total attacks (594) and digs per set (2.17), third in digs (163) and fourth in total points (203.5).

Vallone was also named the Northern Illinois University Invitational Tournament MVP.

Prior to college, Vallone competed for Alexander HS, where she was named Newcomer of the Year her freshman season and All-District and All-City MVP her senior year, as well as for club team Alamo in San Antonio.

Vallone chose to return to Laredo and join TAMIU because she was drawn by the way the program is run, their care about the extra details that go into establishing a successful team, and the coaches being genuine and loving individuals.
