San Angelo, Texas – In their first game of the day against the Regis Rangers (3-4), the Dustdevils (3-4) fell 6-4.
Erika Cortez got the nod for the Dustdevils coming into the game with a 1-1 record.
The Dustdevils came out hot in the first inning getting on the board early courtesy of a
Kennedy Griego double which scored
Kristy Alanis.
The Rangers answered back and took the lead in the bottom of the second with a three-run home run from Sienna Reed.
TAMIU got a run back in the fourth with a sacrifice fly from
Katelyn Luera bringing in
Zaria Brigham.
The Rangers added to their lead in the bottom of the fourth with a 2-RBI single from Morgan Norris.
Griego added her second RBI of the day with a solo home run in the top of the fifth. Cortez added a run with an RBI single, bringing the Dustdevils within one.
Miia Campos gave the Rangers an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth, putting Regis back on top by two.
The Dustdevils were unable to bring in a run in the top half of the seventh.
The Dustdevils look to bounce back as they face Angelo State on Saturday at 2:20 p.m.
