Laredo, Texas – Texas A&M International will conduct a national search for its next head women's basketball coach after Nate Vogel announced his resignation Tuesday. Vogel has accepted the head coaching position at Augustana University, an NCAA Division II institution in Sioux Falls, SD, and a place with deep ties to Vogel.
In his five years on the TAMIU sidelines, Vogel compiled a 78-57 record (.580%), including two LSC Tournament appearances (2021-22, 2023-24), a South Division Championship (2019-20), the programs first national ranking (2023-24), and put together the best season in program history (2023-24).
Vogel, a South Dakota native, will return home to coach the Division II powerhouse, Augustana University in Sioux Fall, SD. The Augustana athletic department has won three national championships in the last few years and the women's basketball program has seen success with Final Four and Sweet 16 appearances. They look to continued success with Vogel now at the helm.
