San Angelo, Texas – The Dustdevils continued their roadtrip in San Angelo, to take on ASU in a three-game LSC series.
Game One
The Dustdevils scored first in the bottom of the second with a solo home run from
Victoria Espinoza to put TAMIU in front 1-0.
The score stayed there until a big inning from ASU in the fourth put them in front 7-1. ASU had two home runs, a double and a single to power through the inning.
Angelo State added two more runs in the sixth inning with their third home run of the game to secure the 9-1 victory in six innings.
Carla Arellano started the game for the Dustdevils and pitched 3.1 innings and allowed six runs on five hits with three walks and two strikeouts.
Zakayia Fredrick and
Celeste Apaez both made appearances in relief.
The Dustdevil offense was held to just three hits, led by Espinoza's home run.
Game Two
Kylie Goad got the start on the mound for TAMIU in game two and was lights out.
Goad pitched seven innings and allowed just two hits with three walks and two strikeouts. The shut out is just the second time this season that the Rambelles have been held scoreless this season.
Behind Goad's dominance in the circle, the Dustdevils scored their two runs off of
Victoria Gonzalez's 10
th home run of the season, giving them the 2-0 win over ASU.
The Dustdevils head into Wednesday looking for a series win over the nationally ranked Rambelles with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
