Dustdevils Draw with Falcons to Open Conference Play

Odessa, Texas – The Dustdevils began Lone Star Conference play on Friday on the road against Texas Permian Basin. First half goals from both teams led to a 1-1 draw.

The Falcons opened the scoring with a goal in the 26th minute from Cassandra Ramirez.

The Dustdevils quickly answered back with the equalizer from Loren Perez Barrera, knotting the game at one.

UTPB put up 10 shots in the second half, with four on goal. All four shots were saved by Hannah Harris, who totaled eight saves in the match.

Perez Barrera had two of TAMIU's shots on goal, the third coming off the foot of Sammy Hecht.

The Dustdevils return to Laredo on Saturday for their home opener against Dallas Baptist. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
