Denton, Texas – Texas A&M International women's soccer battled to a 1–1 draw against Texas Woman's University on Saturday evening at Pioneer Soccer Park.
After a scoreless opening half, the Dustdevils withstood early second-half pressure from the Pioneers before TWU broke through in the 72nd minute. TAMIU stayed composed and kept pushing forward, finding the equalizer in the 88th minute when
Camila Razcon found the back of the net off an assist from
Fredes Manrique.
Goalkeeper
Maria Melendez anchored the Dustdevil defense with six saves on 19 TWU shots, while TAMIU generated six total shots—three of which landed on frame.
With the result, the Dustdevils move to 2-5-3 overall and 1-4-2 in Lone Star Conference play.
TAMIU continues its season on the road with a match against Oklahoma Christian on October 15.
