Laredo, Texas – Texas A&M International women's soccer played to a 1-1 draw against Angelo State on Saturday evening at Dustdevil Field.
The Dustdevils struck first early in the second half when
Fredes Manrique found the back of the net in the 49th minute, assisted by
Sofia Trejo, to give TAMIU a 1-0 advantage.
Angelo State leveled the score 10 minutes later on a goal in the 59th minute.
Goalkeepers
Maria Melendez and
Latae Rodriguez combined for seven saves in the match, helping the Dustdevils fend off 20 shots from the Rambelles.
TAMIU managed three shots in the contest, all on target, while also receiving strong defensive efforts from
Ana Lucia Arroyo Azofeifa and
Valeria Olivas Maldonado, who each played the full 90 minutes.
TAMIU closes out the regular season at home on Tuesday, Nov. 4, against Eastern New Mexico. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Dustdevil Soccer Field.
