Laredo, TX – The Dustdevils (1-1-1) played their first home game of the season Wednesday night against Texas Lutheran University.
Janize Castillo found the net and led TAMIU to the 1-0 win over the Bulldogs.
Castillo's goal came eight minutes into the game, giving the Dustdevils an early lead.
TAMIU had three other shots taken by
Natasha Goodwin,
Laura Cardenas and
Anessa Barrera that were all saved by the Bulldogs' goalie.
Latae Rodriguez was in the net for TAMIU and stopped both shots from TLU to earn the shutout victory.
The Dustdevils continue the season at home on September 17, against Midwestern State. The game serves as TAMIU Athletics' Kick Kids Cancer event in partnership with Smiles from Heaven.
