Kingsville, Texas – Texas A&M International volleyball fell in straight sets (19–25, 5–25, 20–25) to Texas A&M-Kingsville on Thursday night at the Steinke Center.
The Dustdevils were led offensively by
Aryana Ledet, who posted 4 kills and added a service ace, while
Sierra Sanchez chipped in 5 kills and 3 digs.
Caitlyn Cornell was active at the net, finishing with 3 total blocks to go along with 2 kills and a service ace.
In the back row,
Samantha Estrada anchored the defense with a team-high 9 digs, while also serving up an ace. Natalie Cisneros kept the offense moving with 8 assists and contributed a block.
Danea King made an impact in limited action, while
Marianna Gamboa provided a spark off the bench with a service ace and 2 digs.
Despite the loss, the Dustdevils showed fight in the opening and closing frames, pushing the Javelinas late in the first set and rallying to 20 points in the third.
TAMIU will look to bounce back as they face Midwestern State Friday night.
