Biography

2016:
Hernandez will compete as a Sophomore for the Dustdevils.

2015:
Hernandez left his mark as a Freshman. In his first career meet (TAMIU Invitational) Jacob finished in 9th place with a time of 18:44. He recorded his second Top 10 finish at the SWTJC Invitational where he placed 8th with a time of 17:28. Hernandez continued his success at the UIW Invitational finishing in the Top 15 (12th) with a time of 25:53. Jacob left his mark at the Heartland Conference Championship, finishing 37th in a field of over 90 runners with a time of 28:30.

High School: J.B. Alexander High School (Class of 2015)
During his time at Alexander Hernandez lettered in cross country for (3) years and track for (4) years.
 
Personal:

Jacob is the son of Sonya and Luis. He has two siblings, Rebekah and Jonah. His role model is his mother. Jacob chose TAMIU for its financial and educational opportunities. After TAMIU Hernandez hopes to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and pursue a Master's Degree, he also would like to become an accomplished cross country athlete. In his spare time Jacob enjoys running, reading, fishing, and playing guitar.
