LAREDO, Texas (October 13, 2016) - The Texas A&M International University Men's Soccer team took on Lubbock Christian at home on Thursday. The Dustdevils were dealt a 0-1 loss, moving to 4-8-0 overall (3-6-0 HC).

The Dustdevils and Chaps battled neck and neck all night long in a one-goal showdown. The Dustdevils out-shot the Chaps 10-9 in the game. 

LCU used a 42nd minute goal to take a one goal advantage over TAMIU. After trailing by one through 45 minutes, TAMIU locked in defensively, allowing the Chaps to fire just two shots in the final 45 minutes. 

The Dustdevils would get five more shots off in the second half of play but could not find the back of the net. TAMIU held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks through 90 minutes. 

Head Coach Claudio Arias commented after the game, "We played hard tonight but were not effective in front of the goal. The effort was there but the finishing was not."

Tayeb Ahmadi led the Dustdevils with two shots while Yair Hernandez recorded a shot on goal. Roberto Molina played all 90 minutes in net, picking up five saves. 

TAMIU will close out play at home on Saturday. The Dustdevils square off with UT- Permian Basin. Play is set to begin at 2:30 pm CST at the TAMIU Soccer Complex. TAMIU celebrates Senior Day on Saturday.
