LUBBOCK, Texas (April 16, 2016) – The Texas A&M International University Softball team concluded a three game series with Lubbock Christian on Saturday. The Dustdevils were dealt a 2-8 loss, falling to 22-30 overall (10-11 HC).
Lubbock Christian used four long balls to take down the Dustdevils on Saturday. Trailing by one early,
Erika Sanchez drove in
Brittany Mussett on a sacrifice fly.
Alyssa Acuna put TAMIU up one in the second inning, crossing the plate on a wild pitch. The Lady Chaps would come back to score the final seven runs of the game on three homeruns, leading to the final score of 2-8.
Delainy Thompson got the start for TAMIU. Thompson went 5.1 innings before being relieved by
Krystal De La Cruz.
Chelsea Capello went 2-4 at the plate while Sanchez picked up the lone RBI for the Dustdevils.
The Dustdevils conclude regular season play next weekend in San Antonio. TAMIU will take on St. Mary's University in the final series of the regular season.
