LAREDO, Texas (April 2, 2016) -- The Texas A&M International University Softball team closed out a three game series with St. Edward's Saturday. The Dustdevils fell to the Hilltoppers 0-6. TAMIU is now 19-25 overall (7-8 HC).
In the third game of a three game set the Dustdevils were no hit by St. Edward's ace Lauren Slatten. After defeating the Hilltoppers 6-1 on Friday TAMIU struggled to outduel St. Edward's in game three. Slatten walked five Dustdevils over seven innings but TAMIU could not plate a run in the loss.
Delainy Thompson got the start, allowing just two earned runs on seven hits.
Krystal De La Cruz threw the final 2.1 innings, striking out four.
The Dustdevils will continue their homestand Wednesday, April 6. TAMIU will take on Angelo State in a doubleheader at Dustdevil Field. First Pitch is set for 1 PM
