Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | TAMIU Sports Information - Tim Fairhead

Dustdevils halted by #25 Midwestern State

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (September 29, 2016) - The Texas A&M International University Men's Soccer team kicked off a road trip against No. 25 Midwestern State on Thursday. Coming off a 4-0 win, TAMIU fell 0-2 in Thursday's matchup. TAMIU is now 3-5 overall (2-3 HC).

A late first-half goal and early second-half goal led to a 0-2 loss to Midwestern win. The Mustangs scored in the 38th and 54th minute of play en-route to the win. 

Ryan Hodgson led the offensive charge for TAMIU, firing four shots, three on goal. Javier Soto picked up two shots, one of which was on goal. Tayeb Ahmadi, Eduardo Gonzalez, Rafael Montabes, and Aaron Zuniga each recorded a shot in the game. 

Roberto Molina manned the net for all 90 minutes, picking up seven saves.

The Dustdevils fired 10 shots, five on goal in the loss. 

Head Coach Claudio Arias commented after the game, "Unfortunately we were not on today. We missed early opportunities and couldn't recover from an early mistake. Roberto Molina was great today keeping us in the game."

TAMIU continues play on the road on Saturday, October 1. The Dustdevils face off against Oklahoma Christian in Oklahoma City. Play is set to begin at 2:30pm CST.
