LAREDO, Texas (October 11, 2017) – The Texas A&M International University women's soccer team will make the trip west to Lubbock for a Thursday match against Lubbock Christian on Oct. 12 at LCU Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.

The Dustdevils (2-7-2, 1-6-1 HC) and Lady Chaps (7-4-1 (4-3-1 HC) will meet for the second time this season after LCU took the first meeting 4-2 on Sept. 23 in Laredo. TAMIU enters Thursday's match in a need of a win to keep their postseason hopes alive while the LCU has won three of their past four matches to move into fourth in the Heartland Conference standings.

A LOOK AT THE ALL-TIME SERIES
Lubbock Christian leads the all-time series 6-0-0 including 3-0-0 in Lubbock. Prior to scoring two goals in their last meeting in Sept., the Dustdevils were outscored 19-0.Â

Cio Bargallo scored both goals in the Dustdevils' 4-2 defeat to Lubbock Christian at Dustdevil Soccer Field on Sept. 23. The sophomore had a team-high six shots in the match while

Nicole Cohen had one shot apiece.

LCU's Cara Hunt gave them an early lead in the 2
nd minute off a throw in before Bargallos tied the match in the 19
th minute beating the keeper on a one-on-one. Haley Knesek put the Lady Chaps up 2-1 right before halftime on a header at the near post.

Knesek would add to her tally in the 65
th minute on a loose ball in front of goal. Bargallo scored on a cross from
Monica Castro off a corner kick with five minutes left to give the Dustdevils hope but LCU's Brittany Guthrie put the match out of reach with her first goal of the season with 1:30 remaining.

A LOOK AT THE LADY CHAPS
Alex Denning (56-34-11) has the Lady Chaps playing some of their best soccer of the season with three wins over their past five matches as they are keen on making the conference tournament for the third straight season. Denning's squad is full of versatile players who can play all over the pitch with nine players scoring at least one goal and 12 distributing one assist.

The Lady Chaps have used a balanced attack in 2017 season as Allison Scott and Brittany Guthrie have both scored a team-high three goals this season while Scott also leads the team in points (8). Kate O'Gara, who can play both right back and in the midfield, has a team-high three assists in 12 appearances this season.

Hannah Wise has been a nice surprise in goal for the Lady Chaps after not playing the position during her high school and club careers. She ranks second in the Heartland Conference in shutouts per game (.583), third in goals against average (.637) and fourth in save percentage (.810). The Midlothian, Texas product also ranks 22
nd nationally in goalie minutes played (1129:53).

Bargallo leads the Heartland Conference in shots per game (4.27), points (26) and goals (13). She also ranks second nationally in goals while ranking in the Top-10 in points per game, total points and goals per game.

Castro ranks third in the Heartland Conference in assists (3) while also ranking 69th nationally with her 0.36 assists per game putting her 87
th.

Aubrey Hall ranks second in the Heartland Conference and 89
th nationally in saves per game (5.22). Her 47 saves through nine starts are the 118
th most in Division II women's soccer.

RECORD WATCH
Bargallo has already broken five school records so far in 2017 and has her sights set on more with six matches remaining in the season. Her 47 shots are the second most all-time behind her 65 from last season while her 25 shots on-goal are just two short of Mary Smith, Stephanie Webb and Erika Alcaraz's record of 27. Her 51 career shots on-goal are the third-most in program history, 18 short of Kim Garcia's record.

BARGALLO HONORED FOR THE THIRD TIME
Bargallo became the first player in program history to earn Heartland Conference weekly honors three times in a single season as she was named the Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after registering her fifth-multi goal match of the season in a 2-2 draw on the road against St. Mary's on Saturday.Â

HEARTLAND IN THE RANKINGS
St. Edward's dropped out of the United Soccer Coaches Women's Division II National Poll after losing twice last weekend. The Hilltoppers are still receiving votes in the poll while only three other South Central Region teams (Colorado School of Mines, Regis and Midwestern State) remain in the Top 25. In other rankings, Dallas Baptist dropped nine spots in the Massey Ratings to 36
th while SEU fell 25 spots to 42
