MARBLE FALLS, Texas (April 25, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Men's Golf Team concluded play in the 2017 Heartland Conference Championship on Tuesday. After three rounds, TAMIU took home the fifth spot.
The fifth place finish is the best overall finish in program history.
The 2017 Heartland Conference Championship was held at the Slick Rock Golf Course inside the Horseshoe Bay Resort. Third round conditions were played under sunny skies with temperature in the mid to high 80's with a light breeze.
Stevie Martinez finished the tournament in 11th place. Martinez shot a final round 72. Martinez strung together birdies on 11 and 12, again on 14 and 15.
Ben Page took the 12th spot on the leaderboard, taking a final round 77.
Travis Smith grabbed the 28th spot after firing a third round 75.
Justin Kim and
Parker Holekamp tied for 31st overall. Kim picked up a pair of birdies on the front nine while Holekamp picked up three on the day.
