LAREDO, Texas (September 22, 2017) – Fresh off its first Heartland Conference win of the season on Thursday night, the Texas A&M International University women's soccer team will host Lubbock Christian on Saturday, Sept. 23, at Dustdevil Soccer Field in Laredo. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. with the first 50 fans receiving a TAMIU scarf.

The Dustdevils (2-4-1, 1-3-0) will look to move up further up the standings on Saturday after defeating Oklahoma Christian in overtime on Thursday night. Sophomore
Cio Bargallo netted two goals including the golden goal in the 92
nd minute as TAMIU moved into seventh in the conference standings. LCU (4-3-1, 1-2-1) enters the match looking to get back into the win column having lost two straight including a heartbreaker in overtime to St. Mary's.Â

A LOOK AT THE ALL-TIME SERIES
Saturday's match will be the sixth meeting between the two schools with the Lady Chaps having won all five previous meetings by a combined score 19-0. Last year, on Oct. 13, 2016 TAMIU was unable to find the back of the net falling to LCU 5-0.

A LOOK AT THE LADY CHAPS
Alex Denning (53-33-11) enters his sixth season at the helm of Lubbock Christian women's soccer leading the program to 10 more wins in three of the past four seasons. Denning's team won four of their past five matches outscoring opponents 10-2 but have dropped two of the last three scoring one goal.

The Lady Chaps will look to get back to winning ways after dropping their past two matches after starting 4-1-0 defeating UT Permian Basin, Wayland Baptist and OC.Â

Four different players have scored two goals a piece including Allison Scott, Kate O'Gara, Audra Park and Claudia Sanchez. Scott also leads the team with two assists, six points and eight shots on-goal while converting LCU's penalty kick of the season. O'Gara features as both a defender and midfidler leads the team in shots (20) and game-winners with two.Â

Another play to watch for on Saturday will be Haley Knesek, the reigning Heartland Freshman of the Year, who scored a team-high 11 goals last season but has been limited to just one assist and eight shots so far in 2017. The Lady Chaps will look to have the Aledo native return to her form from 2016 as she finished season scoring six goals in the final eight matches.

Katie Pullano anchors the defense for LCU while also having the versatility to play in the midfield. The Bedford native has played a team-high 723 minutes during her junior campaign. Sanchez, much like Pullano, is a versatile player for the Lady Chaps as she has scored two goals while interchanging as a midfielder and defender.

Hannah Wise has been sensational in goal for LCU having recorded five shutouts in her first career eight starts. The Midlothian native has made 20 saves on 59 shots faced for a save percentage of .800 while her 0.58 goals against average ranks third in the conference.

BARGALLO TIES SCHOOL RECORD WITH ANOTHER MULTI-GOAL GAME
Cio Bargallo historic season continued on Thursday night scoring both goals in the Dustdevils' 2-1 overtime victory over the Eagles of OC bringing her season total to nine goals. It was her third multi-goal match of the season tying Stephanie Webb's record from 2006 and her four career multi-goals game are second behind Kim Garcia's (2012-15) five.

CIO MOVING UP THE RANKS
Bargallo moved up to second in goals scored in Division II women's soccer as her nine goals are two behind nationally leader Kallie Villemaire form Assumption. The sophomore ranks first in the Heartland Conference with Grace Linton of Newman not far behind with eight. Bargallo's nine goals are more than 136 Division II women's soccer teams in 2017.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME
In just their second match at home in 2017, the Dustdevils have already scored five goals which is nearly half of their season total.
Nicole Cohen, Valerie Macias and Bargallo have all scored goals at the friendly confines of Dustdevil Soccer Field while
Monica Castro has contributed two assists.

HEARTLAND IN THE RANKINGS
St. Edward's dropped one spot to sixth in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Women's Soccer National Poll released on Tuesday afternoon. The Hilltoppers also dropped one spot to 11
th in the Massey Ratings while Dallas Baptist moved up 16 spots to 26
th.
