LAREDO, Texas (September 29, 2017) – The Texas A&M International University men's soccer team returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 30, when they host Oklahoma Christian at Dustdevil Soccer Field for Staff/Faculty Appreciation Day at Dustdevil Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. as all faculty and staff of TAMIU will receive free admission to the match.

The Dustdevils (3-2-2, 2-2-1) has its eyes set on returning to the win column after seeing their two-match winning streak snapped on Thursday night against #4 Midwestern State. OC (3-4-1, 1-3-1) are coming off a 2-0 defeat to St. Mary's in San Antonio earlier in the week and have dropped points in five of their last six matches.

A LOOK AT THE ALL-TIME SERIES
Saturday's match between the Dustdevils and Eagles will be the ninth meeting all-time with TAMIU holding a 5-3-0 advantage. The Dustdevils have won the previous two meetings in Lardo outscoring OC 5-1. Â

A LOOK AT THE EAGLES
David Scott (79-99-19) is currently in his 12
th season as the head coach at Oklahoma Christian where he has more wins than any other soccer coach in OC history. During the 2015 season, the Yukon, Okla. Native led a OC team that reached as high as sixth in the Division II South Central Region in just their fourth year in Division II play. Before taking over the Eagles in 2006, he spent time as an assistant at Central Arkansas, Southwestern Oklahoma State and Saint Leo.

OC enters Saturday's match having won on of their previous six matches after starting 2-0-0 with wins over Southern Nazarene and Harding. The Eagles have been outscored 15-12 through eight matches with teams doing much of the damage in the first half. Four different Eagles have registered two or more goals in 2017 with Garret Blume registering a team-high three including two in conference play.

Blume has had an impressive start to his sophomore campaign after appearing in one match during his freshman campaign in 2016. He scored in back-to-back matches earlier this season against Eastern New Mexico and West Texas A&M. Sebastian Capkovic leads the team in points with six on two goals and two assists while Anthony Buchanan has a team-high three assists.

Gianluca Marchetti, the defending Heartland Conference Defensive Player of the Week, has started all eight matches in goal for the Eagles this season making 39 saves and allowing 15 goals. His two shutouts rank him third in the conference while his 4.88 saves per game are second most behind Yuri Nascimiento of Eastern New Mexico.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
The Dustdevils will look to keep their Saturday match record unblemished as they are 1-0-1 with a win against Eastern New Mexico and a draw with Dallas Baptist during the first weekend of conference play.

Thursday's 2-1 defeat to MSU was the first loss for TAMIU this season when scoring one goal as they enter the week at 2-0-1 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play. It also marked the first time in 2017 that they had conceded two goals.

With tomorrow's predicted forecast to be 82 degrees at kickoff., TAMIU is currently 2-1-1 overall in matches played between 80 and 89 degrees.

CARLINO GETS ON THE SCORESHEET
Jovany Carlino's became the fourth different Dustdevil to score a goal in Thursday's 2-1 loss to MSU. The junior, staring in place of the suspended
Elias Perales, made the most out his first career start scoring a goal in the 25
th minute to bring the Dustdevils within one goal on his only shot of the match.

HEARTLAND IN THE RANKINGS
Midwestern State and St. Edward's were the only two schools from the Heartland Conference ranked in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II National Poll coming in at #8 and #17 respectively. Both schools moved up five spots in the latest Massey Ratings with the Mustangs entering the top five at No. 3 and the Hilltoppers now at 15
th.
