WICHITA FALLS, Texas (September 3, 2017) – The Texas A&M International University men's soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw against Fort Lewis on Sunday afternoon at Stang Park in Wichita Falls. The Dustdevils finished the match with a 21-7 advantage in shots with nine of those on-target but were unable to find the back of the net. With the draw, the Dustdevils record stands at 1-0-1 while the Skyhawks are now 0-1-1.

After a sluggish first 10 minutes of the match, the Dustdevils found rhythm on offense for the next 10 minutes recording four shots including two on-goal from
Rafael Montabes and
Max Cruz.

The Dustdevils threatened again later in the fist half in the 35
th minute when
Michael Iskander got his head on the end of Cruz's corner but was once again denied by Byrne.
Yair Hernandez and
David Martinez had shots just before half but were unable to put them on target.

The Dustdevils controlled the start of the second half as
Alan Rivera and Rodrigo Zungia found space in the midfield for two shots a piece.
Elias Perales first career shoot went wide in the 57
th minute before the Laredo native sent another shot over the cross bar just two minutes later.

Iskander was close to scoring his second gamer-winner in as many games in the 74
th minute but Byrne's was there to deny him once again. The Dustdevils threatened once again on an Iskander corner in the 82
nd minute but
Alejandro Doza's shot was saved followed by a shot by Montabes that was block.

Carlos Herrera came up with a huge save in the 85
th minute on a header from FLC's Sean Cleary to deny the Skyhaws from taking the lead. Following the save, the Dustdevil went down to 10 men after
Luis Diaz picked up his second yellow of the match. Montabes came close to stealing the match for the Dustdevils in the 89
th minute but his header was saved.

NIether team recorded a shot in the first 10 minutes of overtime but TAMIU went down to nine players as
Kevin Hernandez was sent off. Rivera had the Dustdevils best chance in the second overtime but his shot was blocked.

Herrera (1-0-1) picked up his second shutout in a row making a career-high four saves on seven shots faced.
