2019:
Diaz made 14 starts and participated in 6 shutouts including a 1-0 victory over West Texas A&M in the quarterfinals of the Lone Star Conference Championship (Nov. 12). Diaz also helped anchor the defense to back-to-back 1-0 Lone Star Conference shutout victories on the road over No. 22 West Texas A&M (Oct. 10) and Eastern New Mexico on Saturday (Oct. 12).

2018:
Diaz played 6 games and started 4 of them playing over 400 minutes for the Dustdevils.

2017:
Diaz earned All-Heartland Conference 3^rd Team honors after starting 17 matches as a centre back logging 1,490 minutes. He anchored a defense that ranked 16^th nationally in goals against average (.744) and 14^th in save percentage (.829). He recorded seven shots throughout the season while putting one on-target against Midwestern State at home on Sept. 28. 

2016:
Redshirt.

High School:
Diaz played 3 seasons for the United South High School Panthers as a defender. He earned recognition as Defensive MVP and All-District honors while serving as team Captain. 

Personal:
Luis Diaz is son of Zulema and Jose Diaz. He has two siblings, Yamilet (26) and David (14). He decided to come to TAMIU becuase it is a great university which provides the best opportunity for him to be successful. His most inspirational figures are his parents. His aspiration and goal is to finish college. His favorite athlete is Sergio Ramos who plays for Real Madrid as well as the Spanish National Soccer Team. During his spare time, Diaz enjoys practicing and playing video games.
